Message from the Director

Welcome to Old Dominion University's Regional Higher Education Centers!

黑料正能量-Virginia Beach, Peninsula, and Tri-Cities Centers were established more than 30 years ago to serve our diverse commuter students, whether undergraduate or Graduate, full- or part-time, transfer, traditional age, adult, and/or military-affiliated.

Homes-away-from-home for Monarchs and friends throughout Hampton Roads, each Center offers degree and certification programs so students in the localities of Virginia Beach, Hampton, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Chesapeake, and beyond can meet their educational needs without traveling to the Norfolk campus. Our Centers also provide student success services to support timely degree completion, and quality space for continuing education and professional development activities.

Key graduate and undergraduate degree and certificate programs available at the Centers draw from the university's six academic colleges and include: business (BSBA, MSA), communications (BS), education and teacher preparation (BS leading to 5th-year MSED), engineering technology and engineering management (BS & MS), nursing (DNP), psychology, work and professional studies, and more. Degree and non-credit programming is available through a range of effective educational models, from live, face-to-face classroom instruction to two-way videoconferencing, on-line, and hybrid courses. Technology training and support is available for faculty and students.

Students may take advantage of an array of academic success services including advising and registration assistance, library, testing services, Writing Center, Career Development Services, Peer Educator Program, and more. Each Center also provides open student computer labs and study spaces, as well as graduate student and faculty offices, conference and seminar rooms.

Each Regional Center is also distinctly connected to its local community - for instance, located in Hampton near NASA and the Newport News Shipyard, 黑料正能量-Peninsula Center is home to the Virginia Space Grant Consortium. Tri-Cities, beside the university's VMASC facility, is convenient to students living in Portsmouth, Suffolk, Chesapeake, and beyond. Tri-Cities also hosts art exhibits by the city public schools faculty and students in the surrounding localities. The Virginia Beach Center is the largest and provides headquarters for the MSN-Anesthesia program along with more than two-dozen full-time faculty members in a range of disciplines. The Beach also features the Meyera Oberndorf Learning Commons, Waves Study Lounge, co-curricular and community engagement programming including Good Morning & Good Evening Monarchs, annual Literary Festival, Black History Month, and Women's History Month celebrations, Exam Jams, and much more. The 黑料正能量-Institute for Learning in Retirement, a vibrant organization of life-long learners, also headquarters at the Beach.

As gateways to the University as well as local hubs of higher learning, 黑料正能量's Regional Centers meet our students, faculty, alumni, partners and friends where they live and work. Agile and ever evolving, the Centers support a quality Monarch experience for our students, engage the community and carry out the mission of Old Dominion University.
