Love your bike? Keep it safe. Local law enforcement agencies recover hundreds of bikes a year, but have very little information to discover who they belong to. By registering your bike, you'll help us know it's your bike if it's ever found.

Register your bike for FREE at or by downloading the app. Shield decals are available for pickup at the Transportation & Parking Services office with proof of registration.

Child Safety Seat Check

The 黑料正能量 Police Department offers free child safety seat inspections to the University and community at-large. As Norfolk's only Safety Seat Check Station recognized by the听, certified car seat technicians will check your child safety seat for recalls, ensure it is properly sized for your child, and verify that both the harness and vehicle installation are correct. Scheduled checks are held periodically on campus and are also available by appointment. To schedule a Child Safety Seat Check, contact听police@odu.edu.

黑料正能量 Police Department does not conduct background checks however we do offer fingerprint services at no charge by appointment only. Please bring proper identification with you such as a driver鈥檚 license, identification card, or passport.

Give your off-campus residence a safety tune-up!

As part of our proactive protection philosophy, we offer FREE Residential Safety Assessments (Safety Surveys) to off-campus residents who request it. Safety Surveys assess areas of risk that you may not be aware of, and identify ways to address them. The evaluation includes checking your doors, locks, windows, lights for risks, as well as recommendations for safety devices and procedures that could reduce or eliminate your home's exposure to criminal activity. Safety Surveys make our community a safe place!

SAFE RIDE is the University's on-demand evening van service offering rides to all 黑料正能量 Students, Faculty and Staff after dark instead of walking alone. 黑料正能量 Transportation & Parking Services (TPS) department operates the Monarch Transit SAFE RIDE program.

Police Aide Escort

The Security Technology Services Unit (STS) provides technological support and assistance to the Department of Public Safety (DPS). STS is responsible for supporting University computer systems and systems specific to the operations of the department. The services STS provides include: body camera management, car equipment, radios, computers, servers, switches, firewalls, and hardware/software inventory.

Police Aide Escort

The Old Dominion Police Department provides a 24/7 safety escort service for anyone who feels unsafe when walking across campus. The safety escorts are conducted by trained Patrol Aides (PA) assigned to foot patrol. If you are interested in a safety escort please call (757) 683-5665 and a PA will be assigned to walk you to your destination.

Please note that wait time will vary depending on the availability of staff. Safety escorts cannot be scheduled in advance.
