Spring is a great time to enjoy the beauty of the campus.
Albert the turtle
By David Simpson
Now that spring is here, why not veer from your usual path - office to classroom to parking garage - and reacquaint yourself with the rest of our beautiful and ever-changing grounds?
Take a spin by the old campus, with its brick Colonial look and towering oaks, now leafing out. While you're there, check on construction progress at the football stadium; the north side of Koch Hall is a good place to pause and admire the job.
Peek in the orchid conservatory to see what's blooming. Stroll in wooded oases near the library and the student center. Walk to the sailing center and check out the river traffic.
Step over to Gornto Hall and say hi to Albert the turtle, often found floating on the deck of his personalized houseboat. Like him, we should all venture out of our shells in springtime.
Of course, some of you make outdoor time a priority year round. We salute you, and may your numbers increase.
Thank you for reading FacSheet this year. The April issue is the last of the semester; look for our next publication in August. Have a great summer!
