Research Interests

Expert in digital transformation, digital twin, applications of digital thread in design and realization of manufacturing and assembly systems, integration of data in mechatronic systems in advanced manufacturing systems through product lifecycle management technologies, digital manufacturing, industrial robotics, career and technical education, career pathways, workforce developement. Her research is focused on digital manufacturing, digital thread, cyber physical systems, broadening participation, and engineering education. She is a Director of Mechatronics and Digital Manufacturing Lab at ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ and a lead of Area of Specialization Mechatronics Systems Design. She worked as a Visiting Researcher at Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Disputanta, VA on projects focusing on digital thread and cyber security of manufacturing systems. She leads project funded by the U.S. Department of Education focused on Career and Technical Education and computer science and cybersecurity pathways with Norfolk Public Schools. She has funded research in broadening participation efforts of underrepresented students in STEM funded by Office of Naval Research, focusing on mechatronic pathways. She is part of the ONR project related to the additive manufacturing training of active military. She is a Youth Program Director of ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ sessions of BLAST (Building Leaders for Advancing Science and Technology), a summer and residential, hands-on intensive STEM-related program from for eighty rising 9th and 10th grade students and eight teacher-chaperones from across Virginia.
