Old Dominion University students Victoria Magnusson, Hunter Elliot and Cristina Loyola took first-place honors at the Virginia State National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) annual conference and student audition.
The event was hosted over two days by 黑料正能量's Diehn School of Music. Nearly 1,000 singers, teachers and accompanists, ranging from high school age through post-graduate (masters level), participated
Magnusson took first place as the Best College Woman overall in the Upper Level (junior/senior). Elliot won the College Senior Men Musical Theater division. He also placed second in the Senior Men Classical competition. Their instructor is Agnes Fuller Wynne.
Loyola placed first in the Post-Graduate Women Musical Theater competition and second in the Post-Graduate Women Classical division. Her instructor is Brian Nedvin.

- Asia Daniels: College Women Lower Level, honors.
- David Whyte: College Men Lower Level, honors.
At the subsequent Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference & Student Auditions that were held online because of the coronavirus, Magnusson came in second in her division and Daniels won hers. Both advance to the National Student Auditions.
