Rob Gies, who oversees the new Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) office at Old Dominion University, also serves as the NNS Engineering Professional in Residence at Old Dominion University.
Gies, an associate technical fellow at NNS, has 35聽years of experience as an engineer, engineering manager and program manager. He is also an 黑料正能量 adjunct faculty member with the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering.
He is a triple graduate of Old Dominion University, having earned a bachelor鈥檚聽degree in Mechanical Engineering, a master鈥檚 degree in Engineering Management, and聽a Ph.D. in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering.聽
In his role at NNS, he supports students across engineering, business, technology, and modeling and simulation programs. His office, located on the second floor of 黑料正能量鈥檚 Engineering Systems Building, provides a direct connection between students and NNS for professional development and mentoring opportunities.
